The practical details

Privacy & participation.

Requesting materials

I collect your email address, LinkedIn profile URL and optional contribution note to review access to a particular research problem. Email ownership is confirmed by a single-use link; your LinkedIn identity is not independently verified. A request is not a newsletter subscription. Approval permits the site to send the requested brief and attachments to that address.

Requests are stored in Cloudflare D1. Full briefs and attachments stay in the private GitHub repository and are retrieved server-side when Alex approves an email. A read-only repository token is held as a Cloudflare secret and is never sent to visitors. Cloudflare Turnstile checks requests for spam. Resend delivers verification and approved materials by email. These providers process data under their own policies. Hashed IP-based counters are used for rate limiting; raw IP addresses are not stored in the application database.

Unverified requests expire after 24 hours. Request records are deleted after 90 days when cleanup runs on API activity; storage is not deleted at the exact expiry instant. Delivery metadata includes the provider message ID. Provider logs and email inbox copies have separate retention. Do not submit passwords or confidential business data. To request deletion, use the contact form on my portfolio.

Public discussions

Discussions are hosted on GitHub. Optional embedded comments load giscus only when you choose to load them. Your browser then connects to those services, which have their own privacy policies and account requirements. Comments are public and persist according to GitHub’s settings, independently of access-request retention.

Contribution and sharing

Read the terms in each full brief before contributing. Access approval is not an NDA, employment offer or promise of payment or ownership. Agree licensing, credit and any commercial terms explicitly before sharing work that depends on them. Keep restricted material out of public discussions. Once emailed, files can be saved or forwarded; approval is access control for initial distribution, not copy protection.
